The Library provides assistance to UAMS faculty, staff, and students with the use of copyrighted materials created by others. This includes assistance with determination of the legal issues accompanying the use of copyrighted materials in presentations, publications, and various educational venues. Currently, Jan Hart, Director of the Library Operations, and Matthew Windsor, Head of Collection Management, are available to assist with individual and group copyright questions and to provide presentations on copyright issues. Harold Evans, Associate Vice President Legal and Research at the University of Arkansas System, works with the Library when legal interpretations are needed.
Guidelines for UAMS Faculty, Staff and Students Using Copyright Materials was approved by all colleges in 1995, and it has been updated as needed. The Guidelines have been approved by Harold Evans as appropriate for use at UAMS.
Copyright: Good Habits is an online, interactive tutorial including self-assessment quizzes. Jan Hart developed and maintains this 40-minute tutorial to address copyright questions for the UAMS community. Lisa Ferris of The Office of Educational Development assists in ensuring that the tutorial reflects current interpretations. The tutorial has been approved by Harold Evans.
