Persistent URLs (also called stable URLs, persistent links, or durable links) 

 

ABC-CLIO

  • Click on a book title, a specific chapter or a specific page within an ebook.
  • Copy the URL displayed in the address bar.

ACM

  • Click on article title.
  • Copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, located just above the abstract. Do not copy the link, just the DOI number.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.

ACS

  • Click on article title.
  • Copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, located just below the journal information.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.

AIP

  • Click on the article title.
  • Copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) URL of the document, located just above the abstract. 
  • Add the proxy  https://libproxy.uams.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the URL.

 

Annual Reviews

  • Click on article title.
  • Copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, which is just below the article title and citation. Do not include the “DOI:”.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.

 

Chronicle of Higher Education

  • While looking at the desired article, copy the link from the address bar.
  • Remove the following from the link: ".proxy.uams.edu", and then add the  to the beginning of the URL.

Credo Reference

  • At the bottom of any article, look for the citation.
  • From any style citation, copy the URL.

ebrary

  • From a book chapter, click on Share Link, located in the middle of the toolbar on the top of the screen.
  • Copy link.
  • Add https://libproxy.uams.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the URL.

EBSCOhost

  • Click on article title or book section.
  • Click on Permalink, located under Tools on the right side of the screen.
  • Copy Permalink.

Elsevier

  • From the article, copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, which appears below the article title.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.

Gale

  • Click on the article title.
  • In the upper left corner of the screen, click on Bookmark.
  • Copy the Bookmark URL.

Ovid

  • From a book chapter, click on View in Book Reader, located on the right side of the screen.
  • Copy the URL.

Ovid books

  • From an article or JBI report, click on Email PDF Jumpstart, located on the right side of the screen.
  • Click on the Tools icon on the right side of the screen, then choose Email Link.
  • Copy the URL.

Oxford University Press

  • From an article, click on Cite in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • From a citation, copy the URL (must choose Chicago style for citations in the Oxford English Dictionary).
  • Add https://libproxy.uams.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the URL.

ProQuest

  • From an article, click on Cite on the right side of the screen.
  • From any style citation, copy the URL.

Sage Journals Online

  • Click on Full Text (PDF) for selected article.
  • Copy URL from browser window when PDF loads.

Sage Knowledge

  • From a given book segment, copy the DOI, located below the article information.

 

Science

  • From the article, copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, which appears below the article title.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.

SpringerLink Journals and Books

  • Click on article title.
  • Copy the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the document, located just below the journal information.
  • Open the following DOI site in your browser: link. Enter the entire DOI citation in the search box provided, and then click Go.
  • Copy the URL from the browser address bar when the article opens up.
