Do I have to have a patient at the hospital to use the Library?
Anyone can use the Library or ask for information. We can send information through email, the mail, or you can come to the Library in person.
Do you really have any information that I can't find for myself online?
We have access to medical journals and online databases which the general public does not. Reference Librarians can help you find the latest research and information that may not be available for free online. Additionally, you know that the materials you get from us are from reliable and current sources. You can call 501-686-6734, or email LibraryReferenceDesk@uams.edu or visit us in person.
Is the Medical Library free?
Our service to help you find information is free.
I sent an email to get information; how long will that take?
We respond to requests within 2 business days.
How do I find a book in the Library?
You can search our online catalog or call us at 501-686-6734. Nearly all of our books are electronic so we can help you find chapters or sections of books.
Do you have fun reading books for children as well as adults?
We don’t carry general books for adults or children. The Family Resource Center in the Hospital has books for adults and children. They also have games and puzzles.
Where is the Library located?
We're on the 1st floor of Education Building II.
My parent is currently in the hospital. Do you have computers I can use while I'm there?
We have designated computers on the 1st floor of the Library for visitors to use. The staff at the Circulation Desk can help you.
