WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

The library does not charge University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Faculty, Staff and Students. Users are responsible for copyright fees or other charges above $30.00. Notification of any fees will be submitted to the user for approval before the material is requested.

Fees for Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) requests are paid for by ACH and UAMS Department of Pediatrics through annual contract for Library services. The library will also pay up to $20.00 to the lending library to obtain an article or book for ACH requests. Normal turn around time for obtaining articles is 1-3 days. Articles will be delivered electronically to your email box unless the lending library sends us a hard copy through the mail.

RUSH processing is available. RUSH charges are $25.00. If you need an article that we do not own within 4 hours and are willing to pay the RUSH fee please indicate that in the note field of your ILLiad request. Also, please call the Interlibrary Loan office at 501-686-6744 and let us know you have submitted a RUSH request.

The Interlibrary Loan department provides service to Central Arkansas Healthcare Professionals in Pulaski county. The fee for Interlibrary Loan or Document Delivery requests is $5.00 per item. Any copyright fees incurred are the user's responsibility. Notification of any fees will be submitted to the user for approval before the material is requested.
