Databases

  • CINAHL Complete This link opens in a new window
    Index of over 4,300 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health, with indexing back to 1937. Searchable cited references for more than 1,500 journals. Full text for over 1400 journals, plus legal cases, critical paths, research instruments and clinical trials.

  • Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (Ebsco) This link opens in a new window
    A bibliographic database that provides a highly concentrated source of reports of randomized controlled trials. Records contain the list of authors, the title of the article, the source, volume, issue, page numbers, and, in many cases, a summary of the article (abstract). They do not contain the full text of the article.
  • ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Database
    Covering literature in nursing, allied health, alternative and complementary medicine, and much more. This versatile database provides indexing for 850+ titles, with over 715 titles in full-text, plus 12,000+ full text dissertations in nursing and related fields.
  • PubMed This link opens in a new window
    PubMed, a product of the US National Library of Medicine, is a large database of journal article citations covering topics from pre-clinical areas (molecular biology, genetics) to clinical medicine and more general areas such as healthcare legislation and policy. The full text of many articles is available free through links in PubMed.
  • PsycINFO (EBSCO) This link opens in a new window
    Database of journal articles, book chapters, dissertations & other sources from the American Psychological Association.
  • SocINDEX with Full Text This link opens in a new window
    Sociology research database containing full text for more than 860 journals dating back to 1908. Also includes full text for 830 books and 16,800 conference papers.
  • ERIC (FirstSearch) This link opens in a new window
    Database sponsored by the U.S. Dept of Education covering education-related literature.
  • TRIP (Turning Research Into Practice) Database Pro This link opens in a new window
    Simultaneously search for systematic reviews, practice guidelines, medical image databases, e-textbooks, etc.

    With full-text coverage dating back to 1937, CINAHL® Complete is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature.

    CINAHL® Complete also provides indexing for more than 5,400 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 4.1 million records.
  • CINAHL Advanced Search - Guided Style
    EBSCO research interfaces allow users to conduct advanced searches using Guided-Style Find fields. Guided-Style Find fields assist you in creating a more targeted search.
