Databases

AHRQ Evidence Based Reports – The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the health services research arm of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Evidence Based Practice Center reports are arranged by topic.
Guideline Central - Contains structures, standardized summaries of guidelines from major organizations and institutions across the United States and abroad.
The National Quality Measures Clearinghouse (NQMC) – Provides information on specific evidence-based health care quality measures and measure sets.
HHS Measure Inventory – Hosted by the NQMC, the HHS Measure Inventory is an inventory of the measures that are currently being used by the agencies in HHS for quality measurement, improvement, and reporting. “Cross links” are included for those measures that are in both the HHS Measure Inventory and represented in NQMC.

Critically Appraised Topics

BestBETs (Best Evidence Topics) – BETs were developed in the Emergency Department of Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK, to provide rapid evidence-based answers to real-life clinical questions, using a systematic approach to reviewing the literature.
BMJ Clinical Evidence – The UAMS Library does not subscribe but individuals may purchase 48-hour and 30-day access passes. Clinical Evidence is a decision-support resource for evidence-based medicine. Rather than starting with the evidence and just summarizing it, the BMJ Clinical Evidence editorial team first identifies the key clinical questions. CATs Library – CATs from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School.
Critically Appraised Topics (CATS) – CATs from the University of British Columbia. CATs are standardized summaries of evidence based on a clinical question or PICO. Synthesis includes critique of validity and relevance of the evidence to EBM.

theNNT (Number Needed to Treat) – theNNT offers a measurement of the impact of a medicine or therapy by estimating the number of patients that need to be treated in order to have an impact on one person. It is maintained by a group of physicians using a framework and rating system to evaluate therapies based on their patient-important benefits and harms as well as a system to evaluate diagnostics by patient sign, symptom, lab test or study. theNNT accepts no outside funding or advertisements.
